Coming from a more privileged background than most, Desmond was brought up to inherit his father’s business as the only child. However, he did not choose the easier route that was laid out for him despite taking a longer educational path than his peers. Even though Desmond was unsure about what he really wanted, he was sure about one thing – to not be restricted behind a desk. Desmond was determined to create a success he could call his own – A success not based purely on paper qualifications, but rather through his own effort and hard work.

This opportunity presented itself through his army bunkmate, Jace, who was in the insurance/finance industry. Desmond saw firsthand how Jace grew as a person, the adversities he had to overcome as well as the success that comes with being a wealth manager. Desmond was inspired and decided to take the step towards what he wanted.

Joining the business in 2014, Desmond’s perseverance and hard work paid off. Desmond is a consistent MDRT qualifier (2020-2024). He is a Wealth Director at Above & Beyond Partners, leading a team of his own where he mentors numerous MDRT aspirants.
